I’ve been working, very little by very little, on elements for a Christmas themed model railroad layout. As I am able, I will post any updates on my progress here.
I chose HO scale for my project as that is small enough to not overwhelm me while not being so small that I can’t see what I’m doing! I really love working on the details like buildings and scenery elements, as you can see from the first set of pics below. (Yes, I made cheeseburgers to go on the diner grill!) I can get lost in details. Quite happily.
Here are some of my plans for the layout:
- time period is 40s/50s
- storefront/building to represent people in my family (e.g., Nana’s Antiques for my mom)
- hidden Christmas movie clues sprinkled throughout
- a drive-in movie with an actual Christmas movie playing
- lots and lots of charm!
